As this is a leadership position, this post is not suitable for an ECT. Teachers are required to have been teaching / leading English for at least three years.  

This post is in addition to a class teacher position


The Leadership Team wish to appoint a Qualified Teacher (Candidates on UPS will be considered) required for January 2027 or sooner.

North Ridge is an Outstanding specialist high school for pupils with persistent and complex special educational needs, aged 11-19 years.

We are a fast developing school split across two sites, that incorporates a range of student led businesses, located at our 6th Form Hub in Cheetham Hill.  

What we are looking for: 

  • The leadership team and school governors seek to appoint a dynamic, hard working individual who will live up to our school motto of “do your best”. 
  • The suitable candidate to this post will be able to teach pupils with a range of learning disabilities and associated needs. The successful applicant will benefit from working in a school with a positive, caring, ethos where team work is important.

We are looking for:

  • You will demonstrate excellent standards in teaching and learning, having worked with SEN pupils for at least 2 years
  • You will have strong knowledge of the English curriculum and know how to lead all departments in providing excellent English teaching to their classes as non-specialist teacher
  • You will be proactive in driving the English curriculum to ensure it continues to meet the needs of all learners and matches any developments from the DFE.
  • You will be an excellent role model to colleagues across the school and demonstrate strong attendance and punctuality. 
  • You’ll bring learning to life through active, practical lessons delivered via a spiral curriculum that builds and reinforces knowledge through repetition and exploration. 
  • You’ll play a vital role in helping our pupils grow into confident young adults, being as independent as possible depending on their needs.
  • You will equip them with the social and life skills they need to thrive in their communities. At the heart of your work will be a commitment to nurturing each child’s individuality and zest for life.
