About the Role
You'll help the Direct Payments Audit Team by providing administrative support to a high quality, ensuring excellent customer care. Your work will contribute to supporting Adult Services and vulnerable citizens who are in receipt of Direct Payments for their Social Care needs.
In this role you will: 
  • Maintain, manipulate and interpret data across a range of software systems.
  • Check, investigate and challenge conflicting information to ensure accuracy
  • Respond to queries from Manchester City Council colleagues and customers both verbally and in writing 
  • Work collaboratively with customers and a range of Manchester City Council teams involved in the delivery of Direct Payments
  • Support Direct Payments Audit team by requesting financial documents from customers within set timeframes and ensuring that all documents and correspondence received are tracked and recorded accurately.
Pre-employment checks
If you are successful, your appointment will be subject to completing the relevant pre-employment checks. These checks will be carried out as part of our recruitment process and includes:
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance- The post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Information provided by you or the DBS will be dealt with in a confidential manner and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice . We have a policy on the secure handling, storage and use of DBS information, as well as a policy on the recruitment and employment of ex-offenders. Both policies are available on request. 
  • If you have lived or worked abroad for 3 months or more in the last 5 years or 12 months or more (whether continuously or in total) in the last 10 years whilst aged 18 or over, please refer to GOV UK for details for how to obtain your Police check or Certificates of Good Character.  
  • BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance - this post is subject to BPSS checks. You will therefore be required to consent to and comply with BPSS checking requirements prior to commencing in this post. This check involves verification of identity; nationality and immigration status; employment history (past 3 years) and basic criminal record check.

    When it comes to recruitment, we take a human-centred approach.

    This means:

    • A trained hiring manager reads every application

    • Shortlisting is based on objective criteria required for the job

    • Interviews are conducted in person or via teams by the hiring manager for the role

    • All hiring decisions are made by hiring managers, not algorithms
