Ladybridge High School is a warm, friendly and successful school with a clear mission and agreed beliefs that are shared across the school community. We are focused on achieving strong academic outcomes through a rounded education that prepares our learners for life. We are committed to our ‘Trivium’ approach to education, which is summarised on our website here.

The wonderfully diverse population of learners, the emphasis on professional learning for staff and the friendly atmosphere make Ladybridge an interesting and enjoyable place to work. Previous postholders have progressed in their careers and successfully secured new roles within school.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team. In school, we have a provision called Managed Remove (MR) for learners who have been removed from all lessons for a fixed period as an alternative to suspension. Learners who have been temporarily removed from lessons attend a provision called Temporary Remove (TR). The main part of this role will be to supervise small groups of learners in MR and TR, maintaining high expectations at all times to ensure that learning continues in these provisions.

The role will also involve mentoring learners to help them reflect on their behaviour, identify barriers to learning and develop strategies to make positive choices. Working closely with pastoral staff, the successful candidate will support learners to return successfully to lessons and reduce the likelihood of repeat placements in MR or TR.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate with:

  • Relevant experience of working with young people in an educational setting.
  • High expectations and a commitment to helping learners fulfil their potential.
  • A strong classroom presence.
  • The ability to establish fair, respectful and supportive relationships with learners.
  • The ability to mentor learners and support positive changes in behaviour.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Interested colleagues should complete an application form, which can be downloaded from the school’s website at www.ladybridgehigh.co.uk/latest-vacancies/, and submit it with a letter of application outlining how their experience to date has prepared them for this role.

Please note that CVs and late applications will not be accepted.

Deadline for application: Friday 6th November 2026 at 8.00am
