Change Lives. Transform your Future.

A career in a Residential Childcare can be a challenging but very rewarding role. Make a real difference to the lives of young people giving them a brighter future they deserve.

Throughout your time you will really get to know the children you are caring for in the home. With your team you will work together to provide these vulnerable children with a safe, stable and nurturing environment to allow them to progress.

Sadly, children are placed into these homes for a wide range of reasons including trauma, loss, abuse and neglect. In the role you will be caring for children with complex needs such as physical and phycological difficulties. These needs have left them unable to be cared for in the family home. Take time to understand each child and how to approach their specific needs. Give them the brighter future they deserve!

Did you know? Qualifications aren’t necessary for a career in Residential Childcare. Training is provided when you begin the job. Get paid while you train and receive continuous support from your employer throughout. A level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare will be completed withing your first 2 years in the role. The qualification is fully funded by the employer, if you care you can.

Who we are looking for?

The qualities that you have are important for creating success in a Residential Practitioner career.

Communication along with a caring and supportive nature is essential. Building positive, trusting relationships is something that should be worked hard at. You will be faced with challenging situations but being able to remain calm during them is critical. Dealing with children who haven't had it easy requires a trustworthy individual, who can hold important responsibilities. Confidence in yourself and others will help you to thrive. A good sense of humour also can be handy when it comes to children.

If you have previous experience in caring for someone this can also be beneficial. Whether this is from a care setting or caring for someone in your life. You'll know how to approach situations where others need that extra support. Apply your skills and start a career journey where you will be rewarded each day by bringing positivity and support to children who need it.
