Role overview

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Personal Assistant to join Oldham Council. If successful you will provide a proactive and comprehensive Executive Support Service to the Senior Management Team across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

 

The role is all encompassing with lots of variety dependent on the needs of the business and Directors at any given time. You will be responsible for a range of administrative tasks including time/diary management, email management, organising documents & correspondence, responding to urgent requests & enquiries from a range of sources including Councillors and the public, organising meetings and events with a range of partners and organisations. You will be responsible for co-ordinating tasks and ensuring actions are completed. As a Personal Assistant you will ensure consistent high standards of service delivery and proactively review and suggest new ways of working to bring about improvements and efficiencies.

Key Requirements

 

To succeed in this role you will need as a minimum:

  • Experience of providing secretarial/PA support to a Senior Manager/Director or similar role within an organisation and you will be entirely confident using technology. Above all, going the extra mile to deliver an impeccable level of service will be second nature to you.
  • Outstanding communication skills (written and oral), ability to work to competing and tight deadlines and an insatiable appetite for work planning, prioritising and highly developed organisation.
  • Experience of working within a team. You must be able to work at pace with attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and switch between a number of conflicting priorities. You will be able to work on your own initiative as well as playing a critical role in an important team. You will be a loyal individual who upholds a high level of confidentiality.
