Blackpool and Fylde

There’s nowhere quite like the beautiful Fylde Coast! From Blackpool, Britain’s most popular seaside destination with world-famous attractions, to the picturesque towns and villages of St.Annes, Lytham and Wrea Green to name a few.

The area is famous for its iconic tower, miles of golden beaches and home to the world famous Blackpool Illuminations, but there is so much more…

Discover Blackpool & Fylde

  1. Entertainment

Every year the Fylde Coast plays hosts to both UK stars and international artists, with the Blackpool Illuminations Switch On show and Lytham Festival, which is now Lancashire’s largest live music event, attracting tens of thousands of spectators. The Pleasure Beach, Royal Lytham golf course, the World Firework championships and Kite Festival. Oh, and let’s not forget the famous Tower Ballroom, attracting Strictly Come Dancing and their stars. There are tonnes of exciting things to see and do!

  2. Art, Culture & Heritage

The Fylde Coast is rich in art, culture and heritage, and we’ve established ourselves as a theatrical gem, with West End musicals and vibrant festivals appearing on our annual calendar.

If you’re a theatre-goer, you'll love Blackpool's beautiful Winter Gardens and Grand Theatre. There’s an action-packed year-round programme of live theatre from ballet, opera and plays to comedy, musicals, contemporary dance and loads of fun shows for the entire family.

  3. Surrounding Area & Transport Links

The Fylde area comprises of many quaint towns and villages. Its historic streets are full of many fashionable independent shops, restaurants and public houses.

People who live here like to make the most of their surroundings. Ideally located to enjoy the delights on their doorstep or to explore further afield — whether it's an hour at the spa, a day out at the beach, a weekend in the Lake District or a shopping spree in Manchester — all are within easy reach.

That's the beauty of living in a place like this. Excellent motorway, transport links and affordable housing, our coastal towns and neighbouring leafy areas are perfectly situated for those for both those who love a lifestyle brimming with fun and also those who enjoy a bit of peace and relaxation.

  4. Things are changing...

After seeing massive multi-million-pound investment in regeneration over the last few years, there is no let-up in pace as projects near completion and others reach key milestones.

Blackpool town centre is being reinvigorated with a number of huge developments. The £3.6m refurbishment of Abingdon Street Market has now opened, offering a range of artisan food and beverage units along with live music. This will be followed with the £21m Houndshill shopping extension, which is nearing completion, adding a flagship Frasers store and the Backlot Cinema, which will boast one of the biggest IMAX screens in the country.

Hopefully these will be enjoyed by the 3,000 professional workers moving to the town centre to take

Elsewhere Blackpool Central has secured £300m of private sector investment to create a range of year round leisure attractions, including an indoor entertainment centre, hotels, heritage quarter and a public square.

At the Airport Enterprise Zone an impressive £6m sports village has recently opened and with the construction of a new access road, and newly unlocked land becoming available, plans are afoot for further private investment and the development of a Knowledge Quarter for ethically powered data centres located immediately on top of the CeltixConnect subsea cable, which connects with the US in less than 64 milliseconds!
