The Role

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, community facilitator to support the Public Health Directorate.  The role will be focused on supporting the delivery of our community engagement activities across our communities and settings, to meet our strong ambition for improving population health and reduce health inequalities in Bolton.

You will be involved in implementing a strength-based approach and delivering a high-quality service to communities and partners in a locality context.  You will have a focus on improving health outcomes with citizens in Bolton through development and active citizenship, empowering people to make positive changes through a capacity building approach to reduce health inequalities in the borough.

You will carry out outreach work with the communities of Bolton, to support local people in the building of a stronger more resilient, healthier place to live, work or socialise and to assist in the establishment of Public Health community engagement.  You will be responsible for promoting and developing community activity in areas across Bolton, working with voluntary and community projects and supporting local people to get more involved with their community.

Job Description

About You

As a highly motivated community facilitator, you will be responsible for working at a hyper local level developing strong resilient healthier communities and citizens with a strong focus on coproducing using community and asset-based approaches.

You will be able to use your communication skills to engage, negotiate with, and influence others at all levels. You will need to have experience in working within diverse communities and a passion for making a difference. 

You’ll be self-motivated and innovative whilst also working well within a team and leading by

example.
