As an EPIC apprentice
Whether you're a student looking for your first step, considering a change of career, or someone who is ready to explore new opportunities, our EPIC apprenticeships are the ideal platform to grow, learn, and thrive.
Our EPIC apprenticeships are quite simply posts with an apprenticeship attached. In recent years these have included roles such as Apprentice IT Technician, Customer Service Apprentice and Trainee Quantity Surveyor.
As an EPIC apprentice you will, you will have ongoing, personalised support from your manager and the Employment and Skills Team alongside the opportunity to spend 20% of your working week dedicated to applying your learning to the role you are undertaking.
In addition, we are proud to be a Real Living Wage accredited employer and so you will be paid this rate with you join us.

Do your research
You'll need to know the role inside-out to make the best application and prepare for any possible interview.
Find out as much as you can about us as a Council, look on our website and speak to anyone you know who works for us.
Think about practical stuff like the location of the workplace (how will you get there, how long it will take to get there and the cost of travel).
Think about what makes you unique
This will be useful when completing your application.
Compare and match your skills with what we're looking for in the advert and role profile.
Ensure that you include any predicted qualifications and award dates
In the supporting statement show how you meet the criteria listed on the role profile.
Before you submit your application
Check all of your details
Good spelling, punctuation, and grammar are important.
Once you've finished, read through it again and then print it out as it's much easier to spot mistakes on paper.
Before you send it, ask your friends and family to have a look through it too.
Final checks
